Amazing images: Take a look Inside the eerie of abandoned chalk mines

These eerie series of photographs reveal what its like to walk the corridors of an abandoned chalk mine.

Taken in the Russian city of Belgorod, the otherworldly pictures show long passageways of pure white etched with bizarre patterns caused by different machinery.

This looks like the ruins of an ancient temple

Photographer, Vladimir Mulder, 31, spent 3 hours exploring the subterranean passages with only a single torch for a light source and bizarrely found an old soviet car during his explorations. After hearing about the mines from a friend, Vladimir decided to explore the shafts for himself but to his surprise found the entrance already been opened by a previous adventurer.
