According to Life&Style Weekly, Demi – nearly three months after Ashton filed for divorce – responded on Thursday, March 7 in Los Angeles Superior Court. The 50-year-old cites “irreconcilable differences” and is seeking spousal support as well as attorney fees.
So what does it all mean?
The divorce could be headed for the courtroom, where Demi and Ashton will be forced to hash out the financial terms over their six-year marriage.
The Huffington Post notes that previous reports claimed that Moore and Kutcher were fighting over money and cash, stalling the divorce process. The New York Post reported that “Ashton earned substantially more during the final years of their marriage,” but didn’t want “to pay a large settlement.” Kutcher, who is now the highest-paid actor on television for his “Two and a Half Men” role, made $24 million in 2011.
