These dramatic close-up shots of spiders’ eyes make them look like alien creatures from a sci-fi movie

Scary eyes of spiders in detail.

Photographer Javier Rupérez, 56, used macro photography techniques to create the other-worldly images of jumping spiders in his home town. The jumping spider family makes up 13 per cent of all spider species and has some of the best vision among all invertebrates, as well as the ability to jump while hunting or to evade threats. Mr Rupérez, of Almáchar, Spain, spent hours taking hundreds of pictures of the spiders in order to create the macro images, with the subsequent computer processing on the pictures often taking several days.
